How many portable storage containers do I need?  How much of my stuff will fit into a portable storage container?

Estimates from company to company vary, but the basic industry rule of thumb is that a 5’ x 8’ x 7’ container is enough for a room or a room and a half of furniture and belongings.  Of course, this is just an estimate, so make sure to talk to your preferred portable storage container provider about their recommendations for your move or storage task. 

Many portable storage container companies only allow their larger containers for long-distance moves, but you can use these, or any portable storage container, partially full, as they can be secured from various points within the container.
